This film is based on the story of Bhoothnath, a demon who is so powerful that he makes the sun and moon afraid to rise each day. He does not have a name or any distinguishing features, but his hands are always covered with flowers, hence his nickname "Bhoothnath" - meaning 'God of Flowers'. The director M.A. Nishad wanted to discuss some important issues related to Indian culture and society in this film and create a dialogue between light and darkness – creating contradictions in the narrative as well as affecting its viewers’ opinions. He believes that if people are not offered with different perspectives on life, then there will be no change. The film's soundtrack is composed by Chetan Bhagat. The lyrics are written by Irshad Kamil, Irfan Kamil, Irshad Khan and the dialogues are written by Irshad Kamil. The film received positive reviews from critics.
